According to multiple reports, Jesus was ruled out of the rest of the tournament on Saturday, December 3rd, after being forced off with an injury in Brazil's 1-0 loss to Cameroon.

The former Manchester City star had played 28 minutes in Selecao's opening two games against Serbia and Switzerland.

With Brazil safely through to the last 16, Tite named Jesus in his starting lineup against Cameroon. He was brought off after 64 minutes for Pedro after suffering a knock to his knee.

Extent of Jesus injury

According to sporttv via football London, Jesus was set to miss three weeks of action, but the injury seems to be worse than previously imagined. He is now expected to be out for three months.

If the reports are true, Mikel Arteta will be without his starting striker until at least March. This will rule him out of crucial Premier League games as the Gunners look to strengthen their grip on top.

He could miss vital games against Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

The 25-year-old has been a key member of Arsenal's phenomenal start to the Premier League season. He has been involved in 12 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions.

Despite not scoring as often as he would like, he's led the line well, allowing the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli to thrive.

Key Arsenal players

Sports Brief earlier reported on Rio Ferdinand naming two players that will likely fire Arsenal to the Premier League title.

Rio has claimed that Saliba and Gabriel Jesus are two of Arsenal's most important players.

According to the legendary defender, the Gunners will suffer a massive blow in their title bid should the duo pick up injuries.

"Your most important player is Jesus or Saliba. If those players come out of the team, the drop-off from that level is massive."
