According to Punch NG, PSG has reportedly agreed to pay Osimhen’s release clause which is pegged at €120 million by Napoli as the Parisians look to finalize the deal for the Nigerian.

The news will come as a blow to Chelsea, who have identified the Super Eagles striker as a top target this summer as they continue their bid to sign a new center-forward in the transfer window.

The Blues have heavily depended on Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson to get their goals this season, but the Senegalese striker has failed to deliver, causing Chelsea fans to castigate the frontman and urging the club to sign Osimhen.

Chelsea’s potential Osimhen alternatives

Meanwhile, Chelsea has a whole list of other strikers on their list of targets if they fail to land Osimehn this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to strengthen his squad, Chelsea Chronicles reports.

Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko are two players currently being monitored by the Blues ahead of the summer transfer window.

Inter Milan’s captain, Lautato Martinez, and Brentford’s Ivan Toney conclude the list of four other alternatives Chelsea will look to sign this summer should Osimhen join PSG.

Osimhen hints at Napoli exit

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Osimhen will likely leave Napoli at the end of the current season as the Nigerian striker has been linked with some of the big clubs in England and France as the summer window approaches.

The 25-year-old has hinted that he could cry when his time to say goodbye comes.

PSG has shortlisted the 2023 African Footballer of the Year to replace Kylian Mbappe, who will almost certainly leave this summer.
