James soldiered through ankle injury

James sent shivers down the spine of every Lakers fan watching after he appeared to say, “I heard a pop,” when he was down on the floor.

After getting treatment from his trainer Mike Mancias, he managed to stay in the game. James looked limited after that but still contributed down the stretch to help the Lakers steal a critical road win.

James limped through the tunnel after the game, making his status for Tuesday’s encounter against the Memphis Grizzlies uncertain.

Every game is important now for the Lakers, who are 12th in the Western Conference with a 29-32 record.

Given his importance to the team, they can only afford to miss James briefly. He finished the game with 26 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in 37 minutes of action. He shot 10 of 23 from the field.

James becoming injury-prone

This is not the first time that James suffered an injury scare in the past couple of weeks. Sports Brief recently reported on LeBron injuring his finger in the NBA All-Star Game.

The hand injury occurred during the second quarter of the exhibition when James tried to block a layup by Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam.

James was also dealing with left ankle soreness before All-Star weekend. The injury he suffered against the Mavs is with his right ankle, making this problem a different one for the four-time champion.
