Former coach of Calabar Rovers, Dorian Marin has slammed Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha, claiming that the former Premier League star lacks managerial skills.

During his active playing days, Okocha was one of the best midfielders in the world considering his dribbling skills and accurate, deadly passes.

His performances for the Super Eagles were also top-notch, and Okocha remains one of the best African stars who did not win the CAF player of the year award.

According to the report on Soccernet, Marin claimed that he worked with Okocha for about 18 months, adding that the former Super Eagles captain even blocked him from getting some deals.

The statement made by Marin:

The Romanian said that due to Okocha's actions and influence, as many as three offers from clubs in South Africa, Angola and Zimbabwe had fallen through.

"I did not understand why the talks were not being completed, until someone from one of these clubs explained to me they could not transfer to the team the four Nigerian footballers I had requested - except I wasn’t the one who requested them!"

Marin added that he has since found out that Okocha's brother no longer talks to the former star.

Jay-Jay Okocha lights up nightclub

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how retired Nigerian international Okocha was the centre of attraction, when he showed up at a night club in Lagos.

The 49-year-old, who has 73 caps for Nigeria with 14 goals, lit up the club as fun-seekers became carried away by his presence.

As sighted in clips across a number of posts on Instagram, the former Bolton Wanderers captain seemed to be a fan of music star Davido, as he sang and danced to his track Champion Sound featuring Focalistic.

Okocha speaks on post-football life

Okocha also opened on life after the game of football, admitting it was a challenge to adapt from professional sport to his new ventures.

Since retiring, the Nigerian legend has gone into business, worked in advertisements, and also provided football punditry for competitions.

Okocha is also a Bundesliga ambassador, and attended the opening of a 5-a-side football pitch in Ojokoro, Lagos earlier in the year.
