Super Eagles Star Jay Jay Okocha Speaks on Life After Incredible Career in Football

Super Eagles legend Austin Jay Jay Okocha has disclosed that he has continued to enjoy life after his remarkable career in football.

Okocha who retired from the round-leathered game having last played for Hull City in 2008, left indelible footprints after spending 18 years playing professionally.

The former Bolton Wanderers star has delved into punditry since he hung his boots and he has also been seen in quite a number of TV commercials.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt star is arguably one of the most skilful stars who ever graced the game, with many saying he was better than Ronaldinho during their time.

As a Bundesliga ambassador, Okocha was present at the opening ceremony of a new 5-aside football pitch sited at Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) Estate, Meiran, Ojokoro, Lagos on Saturday, July 9.

Asked about how life is after football, the 48-year-old said:

“Fantastic. It is a different challenge but it’s the one I’m enjoying.”

Okocha meets Oliver Kahn

Meanwhile, Okocha has disclosed that he later met with incredible goalkeeper Oliver Kahn years after his incredible goal against the German in 1993.

The skilful superstar who spent four years at Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt ripped the entire Karlsruher SC defence before putting the ball past Kahn.

Jay-Jay dribbled and nutmegged about five defenders before hitting it low into the corner and then went on with an iconic celebration as he pulled off his shirt.

Oliseh says Osimhen can be better than Eto’o

Sports Brief earlier reported that former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has lauded Victor Osimhen’s efforts in front of goal, saying the striker could be better than Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o.

Osimhen has been impressive in front of goal since joining Italian giants Napoli in the summer of 2020 and many have tipped him to become great.

The 23-year-old found the back of the net 18 times in 32 matches in all competitions for the Partenopei last season and helped the club qualify for the Champions League.
