Super Eagles Stars Osimhen, Chukwueze Score For Their Clubs As Moses Simon Nets Brace
- Victor Osimhen grabbed a goal and assist for Napoli against Sassuolo, making it 13 league goals this season
- Samuel Chukwueze sends warning to Liverpool with a brilliant solo goal against Alaves but it was not enough to earn them a point
- Moses Simon scored a first-half brace against Lens but watched as his team surrendered the lead in the second half to take just a point
Super Eagles attackers Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze found the back of the net for their various clubs in Europe this weekend.
While Chukwueze got the consolation goal in Villarreal's 2-1 loss to relegation-threatened Alaves, Osimhen grabbed a goal and assist in Napoli's 6-1 thumping of Sassuolo.
On the other hand, Moses Simon grabbed a first-half brace as Nantes surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 away to Lens.
Osimhen scored a bullet header for Napoli
Osimhen scored his 13th league goal of the season for Napoli as they returned to winning ways in Italy's Serie A following their 3-2 loss to Empoli last week.
With the goal, Osimhen equalled his 13-goal return scored in his only season in Lille, Soccernet.ng reports
The 23-year-old star rose highest to convert a corner by Lorenzo Insigne in the 15th minute to double Napoli's lead.
Osimhen also provided the third goal for Hirving Lozano in the 19th minute.
Chukwueze grabs consolation for Villareal
Samuel Chukuweze was on target for Villarreal as they suffered a 2-1 loss to Alaves.
Unai Emery made a lot of changes from the midweek loss to Liverpool in the Champions League as Villarreal found themselves two goals down at halftime.
But just after the restart Chukwueze pulled one back after a nice solo run and a terrible mistake by Alaves goalkeeper. But the Yellow Submarines could not get the much-needed equalizer.
The defeat could cost them Champions League football next season and they will now be looking to cause an upset when they host Liverpool in the second leg of the semifinal clash on Tuesday, May 3.
Simon scored a brace for Nantes
Moses Simon was in spectacular form as Nantes recorded a 2-2 draw at Lens in Ligue 1.
Simon broke the deadlock as early as the 8th minute and scored his second of the game in the 32nd minute to double Nantes' advantage going to the halftime break.
But his club surrendered a two-goal lead as 10-man Lens fought back in the second half to pick up one point from the game.
Simon has now been directly involved in four of Nantes' last five goals
Villarreal Plot £20M Move to Sign Emmanuel Dennis
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Emmanuel Dennis looks almost certain to depart Vicarage Road when the season ends as the Super Eagles attacker has been attracting lots of interest from top European teams.
The 24-year-old has had a remarkable first season in the English Premier League as he has scored a total of 10 league goals for Watford this season.
Villareal has now indicated an interest in the Nigerian forward and will likely make a bid for the striker when the summer transfer window opens.
The Europa League champions are ready to battle it out with other Premier League clubs including West Ham and Newcastle United for the Super Eagles striker.
Watford could be forced to sell Emmanuel Dennis if they get relegated to the Championship and make some profit from the forward whom they signed from Club Brugge for €4million just under a year ago.
