Renowned sports analytics company, Opta, has predicted the Premier League title winners for this season after Liverpool stumbled at Everton and Man City beat Brighton.

The Reds have been among the three frontrunners for the domestic crown for the better part of the ongoing season.

However, their title bid was dealt a massive blow on Wednesday night after the Toffees silenced them during the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Liverpool, who have endured a frustrating run in recent days, were stunned 2-0, with Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin finding the back of the net in either half of the encounter.

In a prediction made by the outlet and cited by Sky Sports, reigning champions Manchester City have been given a 62.2% chance of retaining the domestic title.
