Super Eagles assistant captain, Williams Troost-Ekong might just be on his way out of the Premier League following revelations a Major League Soccer side wants the Nigerian defender.

The 28-year-old has had an inconsistent season with Premier League relegation strugglers, Watford, and the hornets will be interested in letting go of the defender.

According to a report via Soccernet, American Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy is looking to sign Super Eagles vice-captain William Troost-Ekong from Watford on a loan deal.

Watford could be justified in trying to offload the Nigerian international as the Hornets have conceded in every game Troost-Ekong has started in the defense for the EPL side.

The Super Eagles vice-captain has seen his game time reduce drastically since the appointment of veteran coach, Roy Roy Hodgson.

Watford claim 'no contact' from LA Galaxy

Meanwhile, Watford has claimed MLS side, LA Galaxy are yet to make a formal approach to the EPL side for Williams Troost-Ekong.

According to Watford Observer, Watford Club sources say they have received no calls from the Major League Soccer side despite the media projecting their interest in the defender.

William Troost-Ekong will try to seek more game time as he plans on leading the Super Eagles to another Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria failing to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Troost-Ekong sends strong message to all Nigerians

Earlier, Sports Brief reported William Troost-Ekong has tendered an apology to all Nigerians following the Super Eagles' failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after 1-1 draw against Ghana in Abuja.

Super Eagles' campaign in the World Cup qualifiers ended on a disastrous note as coach Eguavoen and his wards failed to give Nigerians the ticket for the prestigious tournament.

The Black Stars of Ghana qualified for the World Cup on away goal rules joining Senegal, Tunisia, Cameroon, and Morocco as the five African nations that will go to Qatar.
