Ghana Legend Asamoah Gyan Acquires UEFA B Coaching License

Legendary Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan has been awarded a UEFA B coaching license by the Welsh Football Association.

The 36-year-old travelled to Wales in June this year for a six-day residential training as part of the process of acquiring his certificate.

In a photo posted on social media, the striker is seen displaying his UEFA B license card and certificate.

After five months of studies, the former Black Stars captain was given his license and can now start his journey as a coach.

Gyan is yet to retire from the game despite being inactive for over a year since leaving Legon Cities.

The veteran forward will miss the World Cup for the first time after failing to make Ghana's squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

However, the former Sunderland striker remains Africa's all-time leading scorer at the global showpiece with six goals from three tournaments.

He is also Ghana's all-time top scorer with 51 goals from 109 international games.

Gyan opens up on Uruguay penalty miss

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Asamoah Gyan has disclosed that he practiced penalties before Ghana faced Uruguay, in the quarter-final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The ex-Black Stars captain went on to miss a crucial penalty that would have seen Ghana become the first country in Africa to reach the semi-final.

According to the 37-year-old, he scored twenty penalties in training and was confident of converting against Uruguay.
