Newly Promoted Premier League Club in Talks To Sign Ghana Striker Antoine Semenyo

Newly-promoted Premier League club Bournemouth are keeping tabs on English-born Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo ahead the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old attacker was a shining light for Bristol City in the English Championship in the 2021/22 season.

Semenyo ended the campaign with eight goals and 12 assists to his name, featuring 31 times in the English Championship in total.

The in-form striker is out of contract with the Robins in 2023 but his recent performances have encouraged Premier League clubs to secure his signature for next season.

And per reports on Bristol World, Bournemouth are in pole position to sign Semenyo, with the newly-promoted Premier League side desperate to add more firepower to their attack.

However, the reports further state that Bristol City are set to trigger a one-year option in Semenyo’s contract which will keep him at Ashton Gate until the summer of 2024.

Semenyo set to earn Black Stars call up

Semenyo will be called up for Ghana's 2023 AFCON qualifying games taking place on 1 and 5 June, and there is a World Cup on the horizon.

He was in line to make his debut for the Black Stars in the World Cup qualifier playoff against Nigeria in March but was left out of the final squad after suffering an injury.

On his return from injury, the player has contributed to six goals in five appearances in the English Championship, with his performances likely to earn him a spot in the squad for Ghana’s upcoming games.

“The World Cup could be one of the biggest achievements in my career. Not many people get the chance to do that and I would be glad to say that I have,” he told Semenyo told Happy FM, quoted by MyjoyOnline in an interview last week.
