"In the AFCON in Gabon (2012), things happened in camp and it was scary. Coach Goran called for a meeting. I said if you have juju, use it for the team and not against another player. Those people doing that know themselves," said the ex-Fulham star.

“A lot of things happen in the National Team, you will see us singing in front of Ghanaians but on the field it’s not like that, it’s so scary with the kind of things that happen in camp."

The former midfielder went on to disclose how players refused to arrive for warm up on time until Andre Ayew is on the field leading to their semi-final defeat to Zambia.

"We had 45 minutes to do warm up and the Zambians were outside doing warm up so we were suppose to come out and Kwesi Appiah was to do that with us, so I came and Jonathan Mensah and Samuel came and we were standing waiting for the rest of the players. Everyone was saying they don't want to be on the field until Dede Ayew comes on the pitch. And for 15 to 20 minutes, we were standing there without warming up," he said.

Ghana ended up losing the game 1-0 to eventual champions Zambia.

Andre Ayew visits Black Stars camp ahead of Nigeria clash

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana captain Andre Ayew has arrived in Kumasi to offer his support to his teammates in the upcoming World Cup play-offs against Nigeria on Friday.

The 32-year-old will miss the crucial World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles due to suspension after picking a red card against Comoros Island at the Africa Cup of Nation.

Ayew just returned to Ghana after a successful spell with Qatari side Al-Sadd, where he won the league and the Emir Cup. He was also Al Sadd's top scorer in the Qatari Stars League.
