Ghana captain Andre Ayew has arrived in Kumasi to offer his support to his teammates in the upcoming World Cup play-offs against Nigeria on Friday.

The 32-year-old will miss the crucial World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles due to suspension after picking a red card against Comoros Island at the Africa Cup of Nation.

Ayew just returned to Ghana after a successful spell with Qatari side Al-Sadd, where he won the league and the Emir Cup. He was also Al Sadd's top scorer in the Qatari Stars League.

In a photo posted on Twitter, as spotted by Sports Brief, Ayew was seen at the Baba Yara Stadium to offer support to the team in their quest to play in the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Ghana are set to host Nigeria tomorrow, Friday 25 March at the Baba Yara Stadium, in the first leg of the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The return game has been scheduled to be played at the Abiola National Stadium on Tuesday, March 29.

Both teams have arrived in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi as they prepare for the big game on Friday with the prize of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Suspended Ghana Captain Spends Time With Father and Teammate Keeping Fit

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana captain Andre Ayew will miss the Black Stars' crucial World Cup play-off against Nigeria due to suspension after picking a red card against Comoros Island at the Africa Cup of Nation.

Teammate Mubarak Wakaso failed to make the 27-man squad for the games despite being part of the team at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he was unused due to injury.

Despite their absence from the Black Stars, the pair were spotted together with the legendary Abedi Pele as they trained to keep fit.
