Struggling Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has aimed a brutal dig at former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel was shown the door at Stamford Bridge earlier this month after a slow start to the new season, which culminated in a Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.

His sacking was met with shock and disbelief within the football circles, considering how successful the German was at the west London club during his short spell.

His departure prompted outpouring tributes from Blues fans and players, with many thanking him for his services at the club.

Christian Pulisic hits out at Thomas Tuchel days after Chelsea sacking

However, one player he failed to win over was Pulisic, with the American international openly admitting he was not the biggest fan of Tuchel.

Pulisic laid bare his relationship with the former Paris Saint-Germain boss, revealing the genesis of his fallout with the tactician.

The forward reflected on one specific situation where Tuchel benched him despite being in good shape in the run up to the match.

According to the 24-year-old, the manager had promised to play him, only for him to inform him that he had changed his mind and would be playing Kai Havertz.

The former Dortmund ace revealed Tuchel's change of mind left him broken and disappointed.

"I honestly was dumbfounded and very disappointed. I thought that I’d earned a start and, most importantly, he had assured me previously I was going to start," Pulisic wrote in his book Christian Pulisic: My Journey So Far.

"So by the time he brought me on with about 25 minutes left, I was just so wound up," he added via Metro UK.

Tuchel was relieved of his duties as Chelsea's head coach last week following a spate of poor results.

The German gaffer was sacked barely 15 months after leading the side to Champions League victory. Boehly adopted the ruthless nature of former owner Roman Abramovich by firing Tuchel at the first sight of a dip in form.
