Messi leaves PSG training early

Meanwhile, Lionel Messi was forced to leave training early this week due to injury, not a spat with Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier as widely speculated, Daily Mirror reports.

On Friday, rumours circulated that Messi was dissatisfied with Galtier's coaching methods and walked out before Friday’s session had ended at PSG's training facility.

It has now been confirmed that the Argentine icon instead withdrew from training after feeling discomfort in his adductor, as uncertainty surrounding his future at the club ramps up.

Lionel Messi urged to join Napoli

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Lionel Messi has been urged to follow in the footsteps of Argentina icon, Diego Maradona by joining Serie A table-toppers, Napoli when his current Paris Saint-Germain contract expires.

Messi’s current deal with PSG expires in the summer although the Ligue 1 giants are in negotiations with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner to extend his time in the French capital.

Former Italian soccer player and coach, Roberto Donadoni believes Napoli would be the best fit for Messi if he decides to leave PSG.
