  • The Spaniard who also played for the Gunners expressed happiness after signing new deal at the Emirates stadium
  • Arsenal are currently occupying 4th position on the Premier League table with target of them finishing among top four

Arsenal who are Premier League giants have announced that their manager Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract at the Emirates stadium that will make him stay until 2024/25 season.

The Spaniard has been the gaffer of Arsenal since the end of 2019 when he replaced Unai Emery who was sacked due to poor performance at the Emirates stadium.

And in his first season as the coach of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta and his wards performed wonderfully well winning the FA Cup and made all the club's fans happy with the achievement.

But things turned bad for Mikel Arteta in his second season as Arsenal coach as the Gunners missed out on Europe for the first time in a quarter of a century.

According to the confirmation by Arsenal on their website, Mikel Arteta explained that he is happy to sign a new deal with the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta's reaction to signing new deal

“I’m excited, grateful and really, really happy today,” Mikel said after signing the extension, which runs until the end of season 2024/25.
"When I spoke to Josh he could see the club at the same point and he wanted to take the club the way I wanted to do it. So everything that he’s said, and that Stan has said when I’ve been together with both of them, they’ve always delivered.''

West Ham vs Arsenal: Holding, Gabriel score as Gunners retake 4th spot from Spurs

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Arsenal kept their top-four hopes alive after a hard-fought 2-1 win against West Ham on Sunday, May 1, at the London stadium.

The Gunners took the lead in the 38th minute as Rob Holding rose highest to nod home a Bukayo Saka's corner. It was his first Premier League goal.

But the Hammers responded just before the break as Jarrod Bowen produced a smart finish past Aaron Ramsdale from Vladimir Coufal's cutback in the 45th minute.

However, it was a day for Arsenal to rely on their defenders as Gabriel restored parity nine minutes into the second half.
