Is there trouble in paradise at Kaizer Chiefs? According to Cavin Johnson, that isn’t the case.

The Amakhosi interim manager has backtracked on comments that his players were arguing following their defeat to Richards Bay a week ago.

The defeat was the Amakhosi’s 10th this season and pushed them out of the top eight places in the league.

What did Johnson initially say about Chiefs?

Speaking after the loss, the 65-year-old mentioned that tempers flared in the dressing room as players questioned what went wrong, GOAL noted.

"I can tell you that my players in the dressing room are arguing with each other because these are the things we know we should be better at, but it was not to be today," he said at the time.

With Chiefs bouncing back with a win against SuperSport United over the past weekend, Johnson has revisited his previous comments, explaining that the players weren’t arguing.

Johnson changes his tune about arguing Chiefs

As noted by Times LIVE, the interim boss explained that the players weren’t arguing as first reported, but instead were not happy with their own performances.

Johnson sought to clarify his comments so people didn’t think there was dissension in the Chiefs’ camp.

"My players were not arguing. It's a normal conversation you have when you have possession 95% of the game, and you can't score the goals," he said.
"It's normal for players to ask each other or to find out what went wrong," Johnson added.

The Glamour Boys seemed to have found out what went wrong and how to fix it. They proved this against SuperSport and will be looking to do the same in their next fixture.

They will welcome Mamelodi Sundowns to the FNB Stadium in a game in which the Brazilians could be crowned champions if they win.

Johnson encourages Chiefs to bounce back

Sports Brief reported how Cavin Johnson bemoaned Chiefs' recent form and urged them to bounce back.

The 65-year-old made the comments after a struggling Richards Bay beat his side in the DStv Premiership.

The loss was the Glamour Boy’s 10th defeat of the season, seeing them in 10th place on the league table.
