The star for DR Congo at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has scored 11 goals in 33 games for the English club this season in the Premier League, providing two assists across the campaign, per Transfermarkt.

During the game against Chelsea, Wissa had earlier missed a similar kick but made no mistake on his second attempt, stylishly powering home to give his side the lead.

A late goal from Axel Disasi earned the Blues a point in the 2-2 draw at the GTech Community Stadium.

"I'm very proud, I'm very happy. It means a lot to me and a lot to my family," Wissa said after receiving the award, as quoted on the club's official website.
"I don't think I'll score one better than that! You can try and try and try and not score one like this, but this one went in - and you don't score a goal like that every day!
"I've watched it back, honestly, about 100 times! I keep showing it to my son and he tries it at home as well. It's a goal you can watch and enjoy every time."

Brentford will end the season with a home game against Newcastle United on Sunday, May 20.
