UEFA's 12 Representatives for Club World Cup

1. Chelsea

The Blues qualified for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup thanks to their UEFA Champions League win in 2021. They defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the final that year, with Kai Havertz, now at Arsenal, scoring the winning goal.

Chelsea's best finish in the tournament came in 2021 when they won the title. The Blues defeated Al-Hilal 1-0 in the semis before beating Palmeiras 2-1 in the final.

2. Manchester City

Pep Guardiola's men qualified for the Club World Cup after winning the UEFA Champions League title last season. Rodri scored the lone goal in the final against Inter to complete the treble for Manchester City.

They are the last team to win the FIFA Club World Cup in its old format, beating the Urawa Red Diamonds 3-0 in the semis and Fluminense 4-0 in the final last year, per Goal.com.

3. Real Madrid

The Spanish giants qualified for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup thanks to their UEFA Champions League win in 2022. They defeated Liverpool 1-0 in the final that year, with Vinicius Junior scoring the winning goal in the 59th minute.

Real Madrid hold the record for the most Club World Cup titles, winning the tournament five times. They lifted the trophy in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2022.

4. Bayern Munich

Bayern grabbed a spot in next year's Club World Cup via Europe's rankings pathway.

Bayern's best finishes in the tournament came in 2013 and 2020 when they won the title. In the 2013 final, Thiago and Dante scored the goals, and Bayern defeated Raja Casablanca 2-0.

They won their second Club World Cup in 2020, beating UANL 1-0 in the final thanks to a Benjamin Pavard goal.

5. Paris Saint-Germain

PSG clinched a spot in next year's Club World Cup through the rankings pathway set up in Europe.

This will be the first appearance of PSG in FIFA's showpiece event. They just reached the semis of the UEFA Champions League after beating Barcelona 6-4 on aggregate in the last 8.

6. Inter Milan

Inter booked a place in the 2025 Club World Cup thanks to their strong four-year ranking based on past performances in European competitions.

Their run to the Champions League final last season helped them book a spot in the showpiece event.

Inter's best finish in the tournament came in 2010 when they won the title. The Italian club defeated Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma 3-0 in the semis before beating TP Mazembe by the same scoreline in the final.

7. Porto

Porto grabbed a spot in next year's Club World Cup through the rankings pathway set up by UEFA.

This will be the first appearance of a Portuguese team in FIFA's showpiece event. They reached the Round of 16 in this season's UEFA Champions League.

8. Benfica

There will be two Portuguese teams in next year's event, with Benfica qualifying as well for the Club World Cup.

Their run to the Champions League quarter-finals in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons helped them secure a place in next year's tournament.

9. Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund became the second German team to qualify for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, joining Bayern Munich in the list of UEFA representatives.

They secured qualification after RB Leipzig lost to Real Madrid in the Round of 16 of this year's Champions League.

This will be the first appearance of Dortmund in FIFA's showpiece event. They just reached the semis of the UEFA Champions League after beating Atletico Madrid 5-4 on aggregate in the last 8.

10. Juventus

Juventus became the second Italian club to qualify for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, joining Inter in the list of UEFA teams.

They secured qualification after Napoli lost to Barcelona in the Round of 16 of this year's Champions League, per the Associated Press.

11. Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid became the second Spanish club to qualify for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, joining crosstown rivals Real Madrid in the list of participants from UEFA.

They secured qualification after Barcelona lost to PSG in the quarter-finals of this year's Champions League.

12. Salzburg

Salzburg claimed the 12th and final UEFA spot in next year's Club World Cup after Arsenal crashed out of the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Gunners needed to win the European Cup this year to leapfrog Salzburg in the four-year rankings. That didn't materialise with Arsenal losing to Bayern in the Champions League quarters.

Club World Cup qualified teams

Sports Brief recently reported on the other teams that qualified for the Club World Cup.

Al Hilal and Urawa Reds will represent the AFC while Brazilian clubs, Flamengo, Palmeiras, and Fluminense will represent CONMEBOL.

Also participating in the United States next year are Seattle Sounders, Leon, Monterrey, Ahly and Wydad AC, and Auckland City.
