  • Phile Foden, Bukayo Saka, and Cole Palmer have all been impressive this season
  • Palmer was the man of the match for Chelsea against Man United on Thursday night
  • The Blues ace netted a hat-trick to help his side secure a 4-3 win at Stamford Bridge

With the second leg of this season hitting its homestretch, youngsters Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer have been very pivotal for Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea, respectively.

The trio is quickly proving to be integral squad members of their respective clubs, with Palmer the shining light in Chelsea's otherwise underwhelming season.

With Kevin De Bruyne missing out on quite a number of City fixtures, Foden has been significant at the central position, while Saka and Palmer performing well on the right wings.

Going by their performances, it is so clear that these youngsters will be on the list of players racing for the Premier League Player of the Year award.

Palmer and Saka will be looking forward to challenge for the Young Player of the Year award, with Foden likely to miss out on this category since he is clocking 23 years.

Despite the three players being gifted differently, a section of fans has been debating on who the better player is.

Sports Brief presents a comprehensive analysis of the three stars, and for sure we have one that transcends all of them.

Cole Palmer leads the way in terms of goals

Any footballer or even football pundit will agree that netting a goal is the most difficult thing in a match. However, these young players have registered a quite exciting show with their clubs.

Palmer has scored 16 times in the Premier League, Saka has netted 14 goals for the Gunners and Foden has managed 13 goals for defending champions Manchester City.

Unlike Palmer and Saka who have converted eight and four penalties in that order, Foden has not had the opportunity to play penalties for the Pep Guardiola side.

Foden presents a super 73.08% pass accuracy, 10% higher than the other two rivals.

The City ace has been so lethal when fielded, scoring hat-tricks during the Aston Villa and Brentford matches.

With Saka and Palmer scoring once from the 18-yard box, Foden averages 0.2 goals from outside the 18-yard box per 90 minutes.

Phil Foden is a pass master

Saka has been able to create 2.6 times goalscoring opportunities for Arsenal who have a super season with 72 total goals for their 30 opener games.

On the other hand, Palmer has a 2.3 goalscoring opportunity while Foden possesses a 2.2-time goal-scoring opportunity.

Manchester City are so good with possession football, and Foden has played a part in that.

Foden has attempted per 90 {46.2}, passes completed per 90 {46.2} resulting in an 88.66% pass accuracy.

Saka more often plays out wide on the pitch while Foden drifts inside and picks up the ball when called upon.

With Chelsea having a lousy start in this season Palmer has not had enough chances to showcase his ability.

Verdict

Foden statistically stands out from the three

Through the six grounds used, Foden leads, Palmer comes second while Saka is third in the list.

With the presence of other stars such as Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva, Foden has truly outdone himself.

In Saka, Mikel Arteta has a man who can pull any surprise and most-needed goal, while in Palmer, Mauricio Pochettino has a game-changer.

When Palmer settled GOAT debate

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Palmer previously delving into the seemingly never-ending GOAT debate pitting Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Messi and Ronaldo are widely regarded as two of the greatest footballers in history.
