The Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Black Stars of Ghana will lock horns in a highly anticipated friendly clash on Friday, March 22.

Both teams had contrasting campaigns at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, with Nigeria being the better side in the competition.

Ghana, meanwhile, failed to move past the group stage, as they failed to record any victories in the continental tournament.

Sports Brief takes a look at the few things you need to know about the 'Jollof Derby'.

All you need to know about Nigeria vs Ghana

Venue

The Grand de Stade in Marrakech, Morocco, will host the two West African nations.

Kick-off time

The match is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM Nigerian Time (WAT) - which equates to 3:00 PM GMT and 4:00 PM Moroccan Time.

Where to watch

Live updates of the match will be on Black Stars and Super Eagles' social media handles. Regular sports broadcasters are expected to also cover the game.

Key players

Some top players won't be available for the game due to injury. Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, withdrew from the squad due to injury, with the likes of Taiwo Awoniyi, Gabriel Osho, and Tyronne Ebuehi also ruled out of the tie.

The Super Eagles still have key players like Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Stanley Nwabali, and Moses Simon available.

The Black Stars were dealt with a massive blow as West Ham forward, Mohammed Kudus, withdrew from the team due to shoulder issues.

Ghana still have Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Andre Ayew, and Fatawu Issahaku available for the tie.

Expectations

Both teams will have new managers in the dugout. Interim coach, Finidi George, will lead the Super Eagles while Otto Addo returns to the bench for the Black Stars.

The last two games between both sides ended in a draw during the World Cup qualifying playoffs in 2022.

Ghana had the last laugh in that meeting, so Nigeria would be seeking revenge against the Black Stars.

Both teams are expected to bring their A-game, and the players will be out to impress their new managers.

Nigeria's top players ahead of Ghana tie

Sports Brief earlier ranked Nigeria's best players in Europe this season ahead of the upcoming friendly against Ghana.

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, and Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface, are among the major stars on that list.
