  • Everton got off to a winning start under new manager Sean Dyche by beating Arsenal 1-0
  • Dyche returned to Premier League managerial duties after leaving Burnley last season
  • A video has now surfaced of his dramatic reaction while his team were trying to protect their lead

Everton marked a new managerial era at the club under Sean Dyche by beating Premier League leaders Arsenal 1-0 at Goodison Park in Saturday's early kick-off.

The former Burnley manager oversaw his first game, a difficult one against Arsenal but masterminded a difficult one over Mikel Arteta's high flying team, as James Tarkowski's second half header was enough.

The win moved Everton temporarily out of the relegation zone before Wolves beat Liverpool 3-0 to drop them back to 18th, while Arsenal missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table over Manchester City who play Tottenham later today.

Former Leicester City winger Demarai Gray was seen behind him smiling at his manager's reaction, with fans claiming he was loving the vibes of Dyche.

Dyche's former players at Burnley, Dwight McNeil and James Tarkowski combined for the goal to give a bright start as the Toffees tries to avoid relegation for the second season in a row.

Arteta forgets opponents after loss?

Mikel Arteta forgot his team faced Everton after their loss or intentionally made a joke after their 1-0 loss as he congratulated Burnley for the win.

“Credit to Burnley, they play I think a really good game, and they lifted the crowd and they deserve to be congratulated,” he told talkSPORT.

The 51-year-old immediately imprinted his style of play on Everton, with 4-4-2 formation as well as long balls and crosses into the box.

Arteta's message to his Arsenal players

It is Arsenal's first Premier League loss since their 3-1 loss to Manchester United in October, as they continue their quest for a first title since 2004.

Arteta after the loss said he loved his players more despite their lacklustre display at the Goodison Park where they have not won in five games, as earlier reported by Sports Brief.

He claimed if they have been doing well, he has no reason not to back them after a loss. Their next game is a home tie against London neighbours Brentford.
