Despite the long shot of them playing each other in Qatar, Brazilian fans already had some choice words for the Argentinian maestro.

Goal took to the streets to ask Brazilian fans if they had a message for Messi, and they didn't disappoint.

While some pretended that they didn't know who Messi was, one man took the moment to claim that Neymar was the greatest.

The real stars of the show were those that broke into a catchy song, singing 'Messi Ciao, Messi Ciao, Messi Ciao' - meaning 'goodbye, Messi'.

Messi seems to be the player on every fan's lips, as Netherlands fans also trolled him recently.

What next for Argentina?

Argentina are through to the tournament's quarter-finals and will take on the Netherlands, The Athletic reported.

The Dutch disposed of the United States of America in the Round of 16, while La Albiceleste defeated Australia.

The Netherlands supporters troll Messi

The Netherlands will take on Argentina in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup, and the Dutch fans are up for the challenge.

Fans of the Oranje believe they have enough to deal with the Copa America champions, and aren't particularly worried about what Messi brings to the table.

Goal recently shared a hilarious video of Dutch fans being quizzed about the upcoming game, especially their thoughts on Messi, Sports Brief reported.

De Jong on stopping Messi

Frenkie de Jong has stated emphatically that he really does not have any plan or secret on how to stop Lionel Messi, when they meet in the quarter-final of the 2022 World Cup.

De Jong, who has been impressive so far at the tournament, will lead his teammates of the Netherlands national team to face Argentina on Friday, December 9.

Having played with the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner for two years at Barcelona, one would have expected the 25-year-old to know the secret of the Argentine.
