Liverpool's 2023-24 campaign is turning into a disaster.

The Reds look like they may end up with just the Carabao Cup after producing a string of poor results in the Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League.

Sports Brief looks at how their once-promising season cruelly unravelled.

Liverpool crashes out of the FA Cup

The Reds' quadruple dream was still alive when they faced Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup last month.

Liverpool looked like they were on their way to the semi-finals, building a 2-1 lead in regulation and a 3-2 advantage in extra time, per the BBC.

Manchester United came storming back, however, producing a victory for the ages at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford equalised for the Red Devils in the 112th minute before Amad Diallo sealed the win with a goal off the counter-attack in the 121st minute.

Reds lose in Europa League quarter-finals

The Reds were the favourites to win the Europa League after an impressive display in the Round of 16. They crushed Sparta Praha 11-2 on aggregate to set up a quarter-final clash with Atalanta.

The Italian club proved to be a formidable foe as Liverpool suffered an embarrassing loss in the first leg at Anfield.

Gianluca Scamacca recorded a brace before Mario Pasalic completed the rout with a strike in the 83rd minute.

Liverpool came out firing in the second leg, with Mohamed Salah scoring an early penalty in the seventh minute, per The Guardian.

Unfortunately for the Reds, that was the only goal they could muster as Atalanta held on for a 3-1 aggregate win.

Liverpool's Premier League title bid in tatters

The Reds turned their attention to the Premier League following their exits in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Liverpool won the tournament just once under Jurgen Klopp, and they would want nothing more than to capture the trophy again in his final season with the club.

Their bid to win the title went off the rails, though, with Liverpool dropping points in three of their last four league matches.

They followed up their 2-2 draw against Manchester United with losses to Crystal Palace and Everton, with Liverpool failing to score in those two defeats.

They are currently ranked second in the Premier League, trailing leaders Arsenal by three points with four matches remaining.

Klopp apologises to Liverpool fans

Sports Brief recently reported on Klopp's apology to Liverpool fans after their loss to Everton.

The Toffees handed the Reds their first Premier League defeat at Goodison Park in 14 years on Wednesday, with Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring the goals for Everton.

He addressed the fans after the match, saying, “I really feel for the people. I am really sorry for that.”
