The 2022 World Cup in Qatar has some of the best managers in the world, and all of them will be trying to help their countries perform well.

France coach Didier Deschamps is the only one to have ever won the tournament and is currently managing in Qatar. Most of them are paid the big bucks to coach. But who are the best paid?

Coaches at the club level make humongous amounts of money, but those managing at the international level make way less than them.

Brazil's Tite, Argentina's Lionel Scaloni, Germany's Hansi Flick and Spain's Luis Enrique are some of the high-profile coaches at the 2022 World Cup.

Enrique, for instance, led Barcelona to an impressive treble back in 2015. Here are the top 7 highest-paid coaches at the World Cup, according to the Daily Star.

7. Lionel Scaloni (Argentina) - £2.2million

Scaloni transformed Argentina after taking over from Jorge Sampaoli in 2018, according to The Times. He led them to their first-ever trophy in 28 years when they lifted the 2021 Copa America. His team were 36 games unbeaten before falling at the hands of Saudi Arabi.

6. Gerardo Martino (Mexico) - £2.5million

Mexico boss Martino has a wealth of experience. He has managed Barcelona and Argentina, leading them to the 2015 Copa America final. He'll need a great tournament to justify the big salary.

5. Louis van Gaal (Netherlands) - £2.5million

The former Manchester United, Barcelona and Bayern Munich is the most experienced manager at the World Cup. He led the Dutch to the semis in 2014 and will look to go a step further this time.

4. Tite (Brazil) - £3million

Tite is the manager under the most pressure since his Brazil side are considered overwhelming favourites. They have not won the tournament since 2002. Tite will need to justify his salary after a poor showing in 2018, according to the Daily Mail.

3. Didier Deschamps (France) - £3.2million

Deschamps led France to the World Cup in 2018, and considering he has one of the most talented squads, he is expected to go all the way again.

2. Gareth Southgate (England) - £4.9million

England fell short twice under Southgate. They exited the 2018 World Cup at the semis. They then lost the final of the 2020 Euros to Italy. A poor run of form means he'll need to deliver in Qatar to save his job, according to the Guardian.

1. Hansi Flick (Germany) - £5.5million

Hansi Flick recently led Bayern Munich to an incredible treble and will be looking to engineer a revival of the four-time world champions. He is the highest-paid coach in Qatar.

Ranking 2022 World Cup coaches

Sports Brief earlier ranked the top 15 coaches at the 2022 World Cup based on merit.

The tournament sees a few coaches who will lead their teams at the World Cup for the first time. Luis Enrique, Diego Alonso and Lionel Scaloni are some of the coaches leading their sides to the World Cup for the first time.

Who will be the ones to make their name on the biggest stage of all?
