Cameroon hero Samuel Eto'o has announced he will organise a charity match to raise funds for his foundation and Slums Dunk.

The four-time African player of the year will be joined by his former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi and other football legends.

The friendly game is scheduled to take place at the San Siro in Milan on May 23.

According to a report filed by La Repubblica, as quoted by FootballItalia, the match will be a fundraiser for the Cameroonian's foundation.

“I don’t want to talk about football, but about what this sport can do to foster inclusion and integration. It is an extraordinary tool because it overcomes obstacles and speaks all languages.
I have played in many countries and Spain and Italy have welcomed me warmly. The message is that we can all live together, respecting each other even if there are clubs which think they are more important than others and which tend to reaffirm certain hierarchies,'' Eto'o told La Repubblica.

Big-hearted Eto'o is well noted for organising charity games to help the needy. Last year, the 41-year-old donated ten ambulances worth £530,000 to the Cameroon health service to help in the coronavirus fight.

Four years ago, the FECAFOOT President donated almost £1million to build a children's hospital in Douala.

Eto'o retired from football in 2019 following spells in Spain, Italy, England, Turkey and Qatar.

He won the UEFA Champions League twice with Barcelona and Inter Milan and the African Cup of Nations on two occasions.

Eto'o remains the only player in football history to win the treble back-to-back with two different clubs.

Barcelona Football Legend Takes Quiet Trip to Kenya with His Family

Sports Brief earlier reported that Cameroonian Football Federation president and Barcelona legend, Samuel Eto'o, has taken a quiet trip to Kenya with his family.

Eto'o took to Instagram to give his more than 6 million followers a glimpse of his trip to the East African country. The legendary forward-turn football administrator shared a lovely photo of himself with four of his five children.

Clad in black pants, which he complemented with matching sneakers, Eto'o and his family posed beside a private jet which had a sticker of the Kenyan flag on its door.
