  • Bernard Morrison has criticised the Ghana Football Association and the handlers of the senior men's national
  • The 28-year-old attacker has been a huge critic of the technical team for his continuous absence in the Black Stars
  • Ghana was held by arch-rivals Nigeria in an enthralling goalless draw in the first leg of the World Cup play-offs

Simba SC attacking midfielder Bernard Morrison has called out the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the technical handlers of the Black Stars for his continuous snub.

The football federation and the handlers of the Black Stars have come under consistent backlash for the inexplicable absence of some players from the national team.

A school of thought propound that the technical team of the Black Stars have been handling call-ups to the national team based on friends and cronyism rather than based on merit.

And it appears the Simba SC forward agrees with that school of thought when he took to social media to launch a scathing attack on the federation and the technical team.

The tough-talking Ghana international has been a strong advocate for players plying their trade on the continent, who have been consistently snubbed by coaches of the Black Stars.

He lambasted the GFA as Ghana failed to score in the crucial World Cup play-offs in the first leg against Nigeria.

"Imagine getting ignored all because of these attackers downgrading the league you play in because others got the chance and luck to be in European leagues and clubs outside Africa. They’ve made the Ghana National team like a family business, you don't get invited if u are not linked." Bernard wrote on Twitter.
"What's so special about these attackers that we can't represent the nation?" He quizzed.
"You look down on the leagues in Africa but you call players from the Ghana League into the national team to imagine players from Ghana league that don't even play the CAF Champions League"
“You don't blow your own trumpet” but sometimes you state the fact as and how it is. I chose jersey number 3 because Asamoah Gyan is the best striker I looked up to from childhood, which I believe he’s better in all areas, but to be not recognised because of these attackers we call into the national team it is better to focus on Simba duties and forget about this."
"Most African national teams give chances to players in the local league and even within Africa. Ghana is not like that. You will be noticed only when you have someone to talk to people in the federation."
He added: "I played for AS Vita Club, Orlando Pirates, Yanga and now for the biggest in Tanzania Simba SC, but never was I recognised because I’ve got no friend there [in the federation]." He ended.

Asamoah Gyan calls out the Black Stars technical team for Ashimeru's snub

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Legendary Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan has weighed in on Ghana's 27-man squad released earlier today.

After several weeks of secrecy surrounding the announcement of the Black Stars squad to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria, coach Otto Addo belatedly released his squad on Tuesday morning.

Coach Addo's squad features four debutants as well as notable inclusions such as Partey and Amartey. However, Anderlecht attacker Majeed Ashimeru was the conspicuous absentee on the list.
