Sundowns is owned by South African business guru Patrice Motsepe. He was born on 28 January 1962, and he is also a South African mining billionaire businessman.

The billionaire has also been serving as the Confederation of African Football's President since March 2021. Mamelodi Sundowns coaches include Steve Komphela, Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi.
