Wembanyama is basketball's star attraction

The 7-foot-5 teen phenom put on a show in front of Mbappe, scoring 22 points and grabbing nine rebounds in Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans’ 93-85 victory over crosstown rival, Paris Basketball, per ESPN.

He scored 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory, which put the Mets into the No. 2 seed for the upcoming LNB Pro A playoffs.

Wembanyama was undoubtedly the star of the show, with the 19-year-old posing for photographs with celebrities, including Mbappe and French movie star, Omar Sy, per Daily Mail.

The French Phenom was a cut above the rest in the regular season, averaging 22 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks per game. He led the league in those statistical categories.

Wembanyama learns NBA Draft destination

Wembanyama’s day wasn’t over; he had to go to Nike's Paris headquarters on the Champs Elysees after the game for the Draft Lottery party.

He had to stay up late as the lottery didn’t start until 2:00 in France.

The long wait was worth it, though, for Wembanyama, who finally learned where he would play next in the NBA.

The team that got lucky in Tuesday’s Draft Lottery was the San Antonio Spurs, who nabbed the No. 1 overall pick for the third time in franchise history.

Wembanyama couldn't hide his delight when he learned the Spurs would pick first in next month’s draft.

Spurs win Wembanyama sweepstakes

Sports Brief recently reported on the Spurs winning the Wembanyama sweepstakes this week.

Fans went into a frenzy, as their team is now able to get another generational star in the draft.

San Antonio got David Robinson in 1987 and Tim Duncan in 1997 after nabbing the No. 1 picks in those drafts.
