Title contenders Arsenal beat rivals Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 in a fierce North London derby at the Tottenham Stadium yesterday, thanks to a brilliant first-half display.

Spurs fought back in the second half, but it was not enough, and Mikel Arteta secured his 100th win as a Premier League manager to break into the top five managers to achieve it.

Sports Brief looks at the top five fastest managers to reach a century of wins in the Premier League.

Fastest managers to reach 100 Premier League wins

1. Pep Guardiola

Per PL Stats, Guardiola holds the record for the fastest win in the English top flight, achieving it in 134 games. The Manchester City boss has dominated the league since he arrived at the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2016.

2. Jose Mourinho

Is there any Premier League record that doesn't have the Special One's name? Before Guardiola, Jose Mourinho held the record for the fastest to reach 100 wins in 142 games. A feat he achieved in his two spells at Chelsea. He has also managed Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

3. Jurgen Klopp

The German tactician has laid his mark on the English league even though he will bow out with just one title in nine seasons. He reached a century of wins in charge of the Reds in 159 games. Per The Times, his replacement would be Feyenoord manager Arne Slot, for whom the club will pay a £9.4 million release clause.

4. Sir Alex Ferguson

Ferguson is the greatest manager in the history of the Premier League, with 13 titles won at Manchester United. He spent almost three decades as manager at Old Trafford. He reached his 100th win in his 162nd league game.

5. Mikel Arteta

Arteta displaced his former manager, Arsene Wenger, on the list. The 3-2 win over Tottenham was his 100th, achieved in 169 games, 10 fewer than Wenger, who reached it in 179 games at the Highbury Stadium. He is the only manager on the list yet to win the title.

Fastest managers to reach 200 wins

Sports Brief previously analysed the fastest managers to reach 200 Premier League wins after Guardiola's Manchester City beat Sheffield United 2-1 in August.

The Spanish boss reached the milestone in 269 games, surpassing the previous record held by Ferguson, further cementing his status as a legend in the league.
