Jubilation in Super Eagles Camp as Buhari Set to Storm Stadium to Support Team Against Ghana

  • The Super Eagles of Nigeria are expected to travel to Ghana on Thursday, 24 March, and play the first leg the second day

Sunday Dare who is Nigeria's Sports Minister has hinted that the country's number one citizen President Muhammadu Buhari could watch the Super Eagles against Ghana live in Abuja.

Super Eagles players are already in camp and in top gear for their World Cup play-off against Ghana with the first leg coming up on Friday, 25 March.

And on Tuesday, 29 March, the Super Eagles will be at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja to play the return leg against the Black Stars for the fight to qualify for Qatar 2022.

Since he became the President of Nigeria, Buhari has never watched the Super Eagles game live, but Sunday Dare explained that this could happen next week in Abuja according to the report on Complete Sports.

Sunday Dare's reaction about President Buhari

“I was in Lagos yesterday and President Muhammadu Buhari asked me why was I not in Ghana and I realized that the President also knows that there is a Ghana match.
“He has not given me 100 per cent assurance but he is likely going to show up here (second leg) on the 29th as a surprise.”

Calvin Bassey makes big and urgent statement ahead of World Cup play-off against Ghana

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Calvin Bassey confirmed his readiness and that of his Super Eagles teammates for the coming two battles against the Black Stars of Ghana in final 2022 World Cup play-off.

Super Eagles players have arrived at the Abuja camp and started training on Tuesday evening, 22 March, with coach Eguavoen monitoring all activities of his wards.

The Super Eagles have campaigned previously three times in the FIFA World Cup and they have not been able to qualify from the Group stage.

At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Super Eagles had the chance to qualify for the knockout if they had drew or won against Argentina, but they lost the tie 2-1.

Calvin Bassey explained that he is ready to help Nigeria beat Ghana and qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
