  • Real Madrid are closing in on another La Liga title and will be looking to take a step closer against Osasuna tonight
  • Osasuna have only earned two points from the last 10 games that they have played against Real Madrid
  • Barcelona are the only side capable of dethroning Madrid but are 15 points behind with 7 games to go

Real Madrid are on the verge of clinching another La Liga title but are not taking anything for granted with six games to go.

Los Blancos travel to Osasuna today, knowing they hold a 15 point lead over their nearest challengers, Barcelona.

The BBC reported that Barcelona missed out on a chance to close that gap to 12 points when Cadiz defeated them in their last game. Barcelona does have a game in hand, though.

On the other hand, Osasuna find themselves in the middle of the pack, fighting with Athletic Club and Valencia for eighth, ninth and tenth.

Previous meetings between Real Madrid and Osasuna

Osasuna does not have the best track record against Madrid. Madrid won eight games in the last 10 fixtures between the two sides while the other two were draws. Osasuna also only scored four goals in those 10 games compared to Madrid’s 24.

Form coming into the game

Los Blancos have only lost one game in their past eight fixtures, the defeat at the hands of Barcelona. Madrid have looked unbeatable in recent games, coming from behind to dispatch Chelsea in the Champions League and coming from behind to beat Sevilla in La Liga. Osasuna has had mixed fortunes in La Liga, losing four and winning four in their last 8 games.

Team news for Osasuna and Real Madrid

Juan Cruz and Jesus Areso remain the only doubts for Osasuna, while Real Madrid will be without Eden Hazard, Marcelo and Ferland Mendy through injury, while Dani Ceballos also remains a doubt, 90min.com reported.

Social media raves about Karim Benzema after heroics against Sevilla

Social media users were left drooling about the sheer brilliance of red-hot Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema.

The French forward is enjoying a remarkable if not an extraordinary campaign as he continues to single-handedly drag Real Madrid to domestic and continental success.

Benzema built on his mid-week extra-time winning goal against Chelsea as the 34-year-old came up clutch for Madrid once again this time against Sevilla in the La Liga, Sports Brief earlier reported.
