Five best African players in Europa League

5. Mohammed Kudus

Kudus is one of the top scorers in the Europa League this season with five goals, but he could not power West Ham to the last four.

4. Amine Harit

The Moroccan international is at the top of the assist log with six and scored one goal this season.

The former Nantes midfielder has been one of Marseille's best players since Jean-Louis Gasset took over early this year.

3. Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian international and his Liverpool teammates failed to advance to the semi-finals after losing to Ademola Lookman's Atalanta in the quarter-finals.

The former Chelsea winger scored five goals and provided four assists before being knocked out of the competition.

2. Victor Boniface

The Nigerian striker struggled with injury in the latter stages of the competition but has shown his prowess in front of goal thus far.

The Super Eagles star has found the back of the net five times in seven games for Bayer Leverkusen.

1. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang is arguably the best player in the competition this season. Since the start of the tournament, his goals have shattered many records.

The former Arsenal striker has scored 10 goals and provided four assists thus far.

Aubameyang makes Europa League history

Sports Brief previously reported that Aubameyang became the all-time top scorer in the Europa League after scoring for Olympique Marseille in the last 16 tie against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Gabonese equalled Radamel Falcao's record (30 goals) in the first leg, which ended 3-3. On Thursday, he equalised for Marseille after Georgiy Sudakov’s early opener for the visitors.
