What Ronaldo's mum said

And Dolores watched the game live when the Primera Liga side defeated their Bundesliga counterparts by 3-1.

She then posted a message on her Instagram saying: "Only you needed."

One of Dolores' friends, a Portuguese broadcaster Pedro Fernandes commented on the post saying: "Even your mother agrees."

The Man United striker returned to Old Trafford after 11 long years away and his mum wants him to make another sensational move to his boyhood club Sporting Lisbon.

Dolores once made a post that she wished the 36-year-old would return to play for the Portuguese side before her death.

She told the ADN de Leao podcast.:

"Ronaldo has to come back [to Sporting], he'd be here for me.
"He likes watching Sporting's games. I've already told him: 'Son, before I die I want to see you return to Sporting'. 'Let's see… .', he said."

Ronaldo signed a two year deal with the Red Devils with the option of renewing the contract a further year.

This means that CR7 would have been 40 if he considers lacing his boots one more time for Sporting Lisbon.
