A former Manchester United star Teddy Sheringham has urged the club to ensure they win the Champions League now that Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to the club, Sport Skeeda reports.

The Portuguese striker returned to the Old Trafford club during the summer dumping Manchester City who were leading the race to land him to the Etihad.

Since his return to the Premier League club, Ronaldo has scored nine goals in 11 matches across competitions, including five in four Champions League matches.

The 36-year-old grabbed late first half and second half goals to help United earn a crucial point away at Atalanta.

After the game, Sheringham disclosed that the team will be hoping to winning the Champions League:

He told the Daily Mail gentingcasino.com:

“When you’ve got Ronaldo in your team, you’re looking to win it. Ronaldo will be looking to win it – he has done it before on many occasions and he will want to win it again.
“He is deadly, he knows how to score goals, he’s so focused, he’s so professional. He is unbelievable. Where would they be without him? I’m not sure.”

Manchester United now have one foot in the Round of 16 of this season's Champions League. Cristiano Ronaldo and co. will hope to seal the deal on Matchday 5 when they take on Villarreal.

Solskjaer compares Ronaldo to Michael Jordan

Ronaldo was compared to basketball legend Michael Jordan by Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his brace vs Atalanta.

The basketball star retired in 2003 following a 19-year glorious career to make him remain one of US greatest sports men ever.

Jordan was a six-time NBA winner with the Chicago Bulls and was named the Most Valuable player in the league for five times.

Paul Parker tells Solskjaer to drop Maguire

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that ex-Manchester United defender Paul Parker has told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to drop Harry Maguire from the squad.

The 57-year-old wants the Red Devils boss to pair Raphael Varane with Victor Lindelof in the heart of their defence after Maguire's horror show against Liverpool in their last outing.

Parker also suggested that the Norwegian-born tactician start Edinson Cavani and Donny van de Beek for the game against Spurs, a match which they won 3-0.
