Cristiano Ronaldo could not help himself but laugh as he watched his Manchester United side get humiliated by Brighton on Saturday, May 7.

United were far from their best as they were unable to contain a rampant Brighton side at Amex Stadium.

Moises Caicedo broke the deadlock in the 15th minute before Marc Cucurella doubled the advantage shortly after the break.

Pascal Gross made it 3-0 in the 57th minute, with Leandro Trossard completing the demolition in the 60th minute.

Cristiano Ronaldo spotted laughing as Man United trails Brighton

With the scores 3-0 in favour of Brighton, The Sun reports the cameras zoomed on a shellshocked Ronaldo who could not help himself but laugh.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's reaction did not go unnoticed among fans who quickly took to social media to vent their frustration with the state of affairs at the club.

One said:

"Don't blame Ronaldo for laughing I'm laughing too. They aren't fit to wear the shirt."

A second noted:

"Ronaldo laughing at them it's that bad. Absolute shambles of a club."

While another tweeted:

"I don't blame Ronaldo for laughing. The situation at Man Utd is funny at least."

Kai Rooney renews Man United deal

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Kai Rooney looks set to continue his development with Manchester United after he signed a new deal with the club.

The youngster took to his Instagram stories to reveal he has penned a new two-year contract with the Red Devils.

Kai has enjoyed a bright start to life with United's youth academy since joining them back in December 2020.
