The family members of Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo have taken to social media to appreciate Liverpool’s gesture following the tragic death of their baby son.
Ronaldo and Georgina, in a joint statement, announced that one of their twin babies passed away at childbirth; news that shocked the whole football world.
The news came 24 hours before Manchester United’s away game at Anfield and Liverpool supporters did well to pay tribute to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
All supporters at Anfield sang ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone” in the seventh minute of Tuesday night’s league clash with a sensational minute of applause to salute the player.
And Ronaldo’s sister in Madeira, Elma, was stunned over the gesture and then shared the footage on social media with the caption:
“Thank you for this Liverpool. We will never forget what you did today."
Also, Brazil-based sibling, Katia wrote: "Way beyond football" against her own video set against the chorus of You’ll Never Walk Alone.
The sisters and their mum Dolores Aveiro also demonstrated they are placing their faith in God to help them overcome the tragic loss that has afflicted the family.

Meanwhile, Liverpool stormed to the top of the Premier League thanks to a comprehensive performance against a desperate Manchester United on Tuesday, April 19.
Mohammed Salah scored twice as the Reds thrashed their opponents 4-0 at Anfield in a game where United were lucky not to have conceded any more.
Notably, United were without Cristiano Ronaldo, who was inevitably given compassionate leave following the death of his newborn son.
