  • Roy Keane is not impressed with Manchester United players following their humiliation at Anfield on Tuesday night
  • The Red Devils were outplayed by the Reds as Jurgen Klopp’s men were ruthless on the night, scoring four un-replied goals
  • Keane says the current Man Utd squad has no soul and that Marcus Rashford played like a child

Former Manchester United star Roy Keane has blasted the Red Devils following their embarrassing 4-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night, GOAL reports.

Ralf Rangnick’s men were thoroughly humiliated in the encounter that Keane claimed Marcus Rashford played like a child; while expressing his sadness over United’s performance on the night.

Keane did not mince words when analysing Manchester United’s performance as they failed to avenge their 5-0 loss at the Old Trafford when both teams met earlier in the season.

The former midfielder blasted Rashford and team captain Harry Maguire for their poor show in the game, saying the current players that make up the Man Utd squad have "no soul", unlike the group of "brilliant characters".

Keane said on Sky Sports:

"It's not anger now, it's sadness. There are no leaders [at United], they lack quality. There is disarray at the club from the top.
"They need a new manager, they need players in and players out. It's so sad to see. It's not the club I played for. It's chalk and cheese. I don't see a Manchester United team out there fighting and with pride.
"Marcus Rashford played like a child up front. Harry Maguire - the last goal - his passing and defending was unacceptable, not good enough for Manchester United.
"What the club have always had in my experience was brilliant characters, people who would give everything they had for the club. But this team has no soul. Even in their words afterwards, it's very robotic and there's no emotion."

Mass exodus looms at Man Utd

Sports Brief earlier reported that Rangnick is set to take up an advisory role at Manchester United once his interim spell is over, with Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag now on the verge of being named new manager of the club.

Ahead of the new season, the German hinted of a mass overhaul at United, with the prospect of bringing in at least 10 new players.

“If you analyse the situation it is not difficult to analyse. For me, it is clear there will be six, seven, eight, maybe ten new players. Before you sign those players you need to be aware how you want to play."
