According to The Sun, Woolston has been out of action for more than a year after he sustained a career-ending hip injury.

Paul Woolston warned against continuing with his football career

The publication claims specialists warned the goalkeeper against continuing with his football career as it could bring him far more serious in future.

The 23-year-old has since opened up on the heartbreaking reason behind his retirement, revealing he wanted to avoid the risk of being unable to walk at 25.

"I completely zoned out. Is he talking about me? Is this real? Surely this is wrong? It can't be me. It can't be right," Woolston told BBC.
"The advice of the specialists was if I continued for another two years, my way of life would be totally different, that I would struggle to walk," he added.

Meanwhile, Woolston has been fortunate enough as Man United have accorded him the necessary support to see him through his retirement journey.

"The club have been brilliant in what they have been able to offer and the guidance they have given. Having that support has made the last 12 to 14 months much easier," he disclosed.

Pogba's contract with Man United is set to expire at the end of the season, with talks over a new one currently ongoing.

PSG are said to be keen to take advantage of the midfielder's contract situation and convince him to swap Old Trafford for Parc des Princes this summer.
