Ghana Forward Kwabena Owusu Joins Hungarian Giants Ferencvarosi

Ghanaian forward Kwabena Owusu has completed his move from Qarabag FK to Hungarian side Ferencvarosi in the winter transfer window.

The 25-year-old signed a two-and-a-half-year deal to join Ferencvarosi.

The Hungarian record champions confirmed the arrival of Owusu on their official website.

"Owusu Kwabena comes to our men's football team from Qarabag, our former qualifying opponent," wrote the club announcing Owusu's arrival.

The Black Stars forward attracted the attention of Ferencvarosi when the Hungarians met Qarabag in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. A game Owusu excelled in, scoring in the 1-1 draw.

Owusu netted ten goals in the first half of the campaign for Qarabag. He previously played for Leganes, Cartegena and Real Oviedo in Spain before a loan spell with Turkish outfit Ankaragucu.

Owusu wants to win trophies

Kwabena Owusu has revealed his ambitions of winning titles with new club Ferencvarosi.

He wrote on Instagram:

“It is with great pleasure and with praise to God that I can announce to become part of your family.
“In recent weeks I had the chance to learn a lot about Ferencvaros and I saw the world champions from over 100 years ago. I don‘t know many clubs with such a big tradition and it makes me proud to continue this path.
“I come to Budapest with big ambitions. I want to help the team win the league and the Europa League quarter-final. Our team is very strong and I can‘t wait to meet everybody and start playing for this wonderful club."

Bournemouth sign Antoine Semenyo

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth have announced the signing of Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo.

The 23-year-old joins the Cherries on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Bristol City.

Semenyo has been in blistering form for Bristol City this season, beginning 2023 with four goals in five games.
