Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah is seriously weighing up the possibility of switching his national allegiance to Ghana, per reports on Ghanaballers.

The Black Stars qualified for the Mundial after they edged West African rivals Nigeria in a nail-biting World Cup play-off staged over two legs.

That has boosted the chances of the West African country to convince the Gunners youngster to join them for the ride in Qatar later this year.

The Ghana Football Association are hoping to secure Nketiah who currently plays for England at youth level.

The 22-year-old has made 17 appearances for England U21 and has scored 16 goals.

But Nketiah is still eligible to make a switch as he is more likely to play regularly for the Black Stars than for senior national team of England where there's an embarrassment of riches in his position.

Born to Ghanaian parents in London, Nketiah has also played for England at the U18, U19 and U20.

Thomas Partey convinces Eddie Nketiah to play for Ghana

Black Stars deputy captain Thomas Partey has charged Eddie Nketiah to make a decision on his international future by choosing Ghana.

In a video posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, the Arsnela midfielder told his teammate it's time to play for the Black Stars.

Nketiah was crowned the top scorer’s accolade in the recently ended Carabao Cup in England with five goals.

He proved important for Mikel Arteta's side after scoring 55% of his side's total team goals in the domestic cup competition.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Callum Hudson-Odoi is weighing up to switching international allegiance from England to Ghana after the Black Stars qualified for the 2022 World Cup, per The Times.

The Black Stars qualified for the Mundial after they edged West African rivals Nigeria in a nail-biting World Cup play-off staged over two legs.

Hudson-Odoi is reported to have watched the blockbuster clash on TV on Tuesday night as coach Otto Addo's men advanced to the World Cup on away goal rule.
