Asamoah Gyan is a treasured asset in Ghana and he is equally loved by fans in all the countries that he plied his trade.

During the week, the former Ghana captain visited the United Arab Emirates as part of the country's entourage for the 2022 Expo.

The former Al Ain star in a video spotted by Sports Brief was met by huge crowd of fans who mobbed and sang praises of the legend striker.

Asamoah Gyan also took the opportunity to visit his former club Al Ain, who presented him with a plaque and a jersey.

"Paid a visit to this wonderful club Al Ain .As usual I received an amazing reception from the V. Chair HE Khalid Hamerain Al Dhaheri , the board and fans. Feels good to always share time with this Great Club . The memories will forever stay deep in my heart," wrote Gyan on Twitter.

The 36-year-old is yet to retire from the sport despite being inactive for almost a year, after last playing for Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities.

Asamoah Gyan spent five years in the United Arab Emirates playing for Al Ain and later Al AHli Dubai.

Gyan remains Ghana's all time leading scorer with 51 goals from 109 appearances.

Asamoah Gyan visits former club Al Ain

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Asamoah Gyan has been presented with a plaque and a jersey by former club Al Ain after visiting the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.

The club honoured the former Ghana captain following his legendary stint with the club between 2011 to 2015.

In a statement posted on the club's official website, Asamoah Gyan expressed gratitude to the club for their warm welcome.
