It is not every day you get to see a talented pair of siblings playing for the same club, just different genders.

This is the case with Reece and Lauren James, who play for Chelsea, with the latter representing the women's team.

Reece James was once quoted saying his sister Lauren was so superb on the ball, that she was technically more gifted than some of the men in the beautiful game.

A video which is doing rounds on social media appears to show that the Chelsea right back may have a valid point.

Growing but, both Reece and Lauren supported Chelsea, although Lauren had a brief detour from the Blues when Arsenal started scouting her aged 13.

She went on to join a newly reformed Manchester United just before she turned 17 and established herself as one of the rising stars in the women’s game.

Eventually, she made the switch back to her childhood club, joining Chelsea in 2021 for a reported fee of £200,000 in total, according to 90Min.

Her debut season was marked with relatively few appearances as there was a close watch on her physical fitness, but things have been different in 2022/23.

She is a regular starter for the Chelsea women’s team, is back amongst the goals and n November 2022, she found the net against her former side Manchester United.

The video doing rounds on social media shows Lauren not only knows how to score, but she can dribble, control the ball and has the technical ability of a prime footballer in the men’s game.

Lauren’s big bro Reece acknowledges her talent and expresses how proud he is of her achievements so far in the game.

“She inspires me every day and will continue to,” James said in a Q and A on Twitter in late 2022.

“I believe she is the best women’s footballer in the world, and will be for the next 10-15 years, without doubt. She’s technically better than some Prem players.”
