  • Graham Potter, who was appointed Blues boss in September, has endured a poor start with the club

Portuguese legendary boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a sensational return to Stamford Bridge with Chelsea.

Mourinho is currently plying his trade in the Serie A at AS Roma, a club he joined in the summer of 2021 after he was sacked at Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Metro UK reports that the ex-Premier League manager is unhappy at Roma and wants a return to the English top flight.

The publication claims that Mourinho feels that the Italian giants are not backing him financially despite leading them to glory in the Europa Conference League last season.

Failure to make new signings has seen Giallorossi struggle this term, with the club placed sixth in the standings with 37 points, 13 points off first-placed Napoli.

Mourinho's Chelsea spell

Mourinho enjoyed an illustrious spell in the English Premier League, with his most successful stint coming with Chelsea.

The Portuguese's first spell with the Blues came between 2004 and 2007 and won the Stamford Bridge-based outfit back-to-back Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and two League Cups.

The 60-year-old made a second return to Stamford Bridge in 2013 before he was sacked two years later in 2015.

However, he was sacked again for the second time as he went on to join rivals Manchester United.

Mourinho congratulates Napoli

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Roma boss Jose Mourinho was in peak Mourinho form on Saturday, January 28 as he bizarrely congratulated Napoli on winning the Scudetto.

This is despite the fact that the Serie A season is barely halfway through, and Napoli enjoying a 10 point gap at the top.

Napoli are evidently the team to beat in Italy’s top flight this season, having only suffered one defeat under Luciano Spaletti so far this campaign.
