Speaking on Chelsea's rumoured interest in his services, Dumfries told The Athletic:

"Of course it’s a compliment. But when you put the Nerazzurri shirt on that is also a big compliment."
"I’m focused on the national team and I play for a very, very beautiful club in Italy. I’m very proud that I can play for Inter so I am focused on nothing else but the national team and Inter," he added.

De Ligt, meanwhile, was widely linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer but opted for Bayern Munich instead.

"I had my sights on Bayern," De Ligt disclosed.
"It wasn’t close with me but maybe [it was between] the clubs. Honestly, I didn’t speak to them this summer," he continued.
