  • Cristiano Ronaldo has been dealt a fresh transfer blow as he sets his eyes on leaving Manchester United early next year
  • The veteran striker looks set for a bitter break-up with the Red Devils following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan
  • Reports claim the 37-year-old had offered himself to Real Madrid to replace the injured Karim Benzema

La Liga giants Real Madrid reportedly have no intention of re-signing embattled Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is currently facing an uncertain future with the Red Devils, following his recent explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

In a tell-it-all with the veteran British journalist, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner aimed a thin-veiled dig at the Man United hierarchy.

According to Metro UK, United chiefs have already instituted plans to offload the Portuguese star after the 2022 World Cup.

The 37-year-old has just a few months left on his current deal at Old Trafford, but he is unlikely to see out the rest of that contract.

While it remains unclear where Ronaldo could move next once he quits the Theatre of Dreams, reports claim he has offered himself to Real Madrid to slot in for the injured Karim Benzema for the rest of the 2022/23 season.

Marca reports that Madrid have turned down the chance to re-sign Ronald however, after the forward’s agent Jorge Mendes approached them.

Ronaldo's latest transfer blow comes just days after Roma’s general manager, Tiago Pinto made it clear that the prospect of signing the Man United attacker has ‘never been a possibility' for the Serie A giants.

"We talk every day about it. Here in Portugal, we are better off because we only talk when the market opens, but the truth is that Cristiano has never been a possibility," Pinto revealed.

Ronaldo and Cancelo quarrel

Sports Brief earlier reported on Ronaldo and Joao Cancelo's altercation during Portugal's team training session.

The incident has had a lot of interpretations, with the two appearing to argue but others suggesting it was a storm in a teacup.

Another video since has shown that Cancelo was angry about a separate incident which took place before his encounter with Ronaldo.
