Bayern Munich manager, Julian Nagelsmann has relegated Pavard to the bench in three of their last five matches, much to the annoyance of the French defender.

Pavard has been Bayern Munich’s first-choice right-back since joining from Stuttgart for £31.5m in 2019, but all that appears to be changing as Noussair Mazraoui is now the preferred choice by Nagelsmann.

Chelsea alerted as Pavard throws wobbler

Meanwhile, Chelsea could be set to reignite their interest in signing Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich after the defender’s latest tantrum with the Bundesliga champions, Tribal Football reports.

Pavard was open to the idea of joining the Premier League giants in the summer transfer window, but a deal could not materialize for the 26-year-old defender.

There's currently no concrete talks about extending Pavard’s current Bayern Munich contract past 2024, which could leave the door open for Chelsea to swoop in for the defender.

Pavard opens up on battle with depression

The Bayern Munich defender joined a growing number of professional footballers to share their experience in dealing with depression.

Pavard, a member of France's 2018 World Cup winning squad, explained that the lockdown during the height of the pandemic took a toll on his mental health, and he became depressed without 'human contact'.
