João Félix wants out:

The Portuguese youngster is unhappy at Atletico Madrid and wants out of the club. Atleti didn’t want to sell the player originally, but now may be forced into doing so. After failing to qualify for the Round of 16 in the Champions League and failing to drop into the Europa League, the club find themselves in a delicate financial situation.

No details on deal two:

While reports indicate João Félix is one of the deals being discussed between the two clubs, there are no reports on the other deal. It is therefore unclear whether the player is potentially moving from Atletico to Barcelona, or the other way around.

A relationship strained:

Barcelona bought Griezmann from the Spanish capital club before loaning him back to Diego Simeone’s side. Barca loaned the French attacker back to the club on a 2-year deal. There was a clause that Atleti would have to buy the player permanently if they used him for a certain percentage of time over the two years.

In order to avoid triggering the clause, Atletico used Griezmann for less than 45 minutes in each game. Xavi’s side wanted to take legal action against Atletico, but eventually the two sides agreed on a deal.

TalkSport reported that Griezmann has joined his former side on a permanent deal for a reduced price.

Barcelona and Atletico in talks

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have finally decided to find an amicable solution to Antoine Griezmann’s predicament this season, Sports Brief has reported.

Griezmann, who is on a two-year loan from Barcelona to Atletico Madrid, has only made substitute appearances this season for a total of fewer than 30 minutes each time.

Atletico Madrid will be forced to pay Barcelona €40m to purchase Griezmann on a permanent basis, if the Frenchman plays 50% of games for Diego Simeone’s men.
