"This ranks as one of Thomas Partey’s best games for the Black Stars. His best was when we went to Congo in 2017 where he scored a hat-trick. Super today."

@addojunr tweeted:

"Thomas Partey showed his class on the pitch today. Getting him to play his best is a huge asset for the Black Stars."

@garyalsmith added:

"Thomas Partey completed 69 passes vs Angola, more than any other player. One of his best performances for Ghana, the other being vs Congo (2017)."

"Thomas Partey is finally playing for Ghana like he does in Arsenal"

@Dom91204346 also wrote:

"Thomas Partey's second best game in a Ghana shirt for me. First was a FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Congo in Brazzaville, 2017. Scored a hattrick in that game. Ghana won 5-1. 8/10. He controlled the game well, was strong, neat, tidy and churn out decisive/key passes too."

@AtsuTamakloe wrote:

"Thomas Partey was very good today.His passing allowed the Black Stars to get in behind Angola on a day we struggled to find space. Typically composed, too. In a better team performance, his output gets magnified if not better appreciated."

@Sani_UtD added:

"Thomas Partey will have a better International football Legacy than Xavi & Iniesta"

Chris Hughton explains Partey's role

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Chris Hughton addressing Partey's role as a midfielder for both Ghana and Arsenal.

The Gunners star has been criticised for not giving his best to the national team compared to his displays at club level.

However, Hughton believes that while Partey takes on different roles for club and country, he is critical to the Black Stars.
