  • Italian Serie A side AC Milan are interested in the summer signing of Arsenal player Folarin Balogun
  • The Nigerian-eligible star has been impressive this season to net 14 goals for Reims where he is on loan
  • Milan chiefs are preparing to submit an enticing offer to the Gunners in attempt to lure Balogun to Italy

Folarin Balogun's impressive performances so far this season for Ligue 1 club, Reims have caught the attention of those in charge of AC Milan, who are now reportedly preparing a bid for him.

The 21-year-old is currently playing for the French club on loan from Arsenal and is also leading the goalscoring chart, with 14 goals putting him ahead of the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

The Rossoneri have been struggling in front of the goal this term and are now planning to have a reliable striker for next season, with Balogun their main priority.

According to the report by Livescore, Villarreal and Marseille are also said to be monitoring the development of Balogun at Reims.

Balogun's contract at Arsenal

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta will have to decide on Balogun's future at the Emirates Stadium in another two years' time.

That decision will be whether to have the Nigerian return to the first team or cash out to another club.

The Gunners are doing well this season in the Premier League and are topping the table.

USA plan to 'hijack' Balogun

Sports Brief also reported on the United States' football association being urged to hijack Balogun from Nigeria and England with an invite to the USA national team.

This is a result of the forward's impressive performances in Ligue 1 so far this season, where he has scored 14 times for Reims - where he is currently playing on loan.

Despite not playing for one of the top four teams in France, Balogun has continued to score goals for his side who are currently 10th in the country's top flight.
