Nigeria forward, Victor Boniface, continued his dazzling form for Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga after starring in the 5-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Super Eagles forward was on target in the big win as the newly crowned Bundesliga champions extended their unbeaten run to 48 games this season.

Boniface, a key cog in the squad, has been one of the best players in the league this season and was named in the Team of the Year.

In a video shared on social media, the tricky attacker left Spanish forward Nacho Ferri embarrassed as he nutmegged him at the corner line with the Frankfurt star struggling to stop him.

The former Union Saint-Gilloise is known for his ability to leave players lost with his magical moves.

Meanwhile, in a dominant display by Leverkusen, former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka opened the scoring after just 12 minutes but French forward Hugo Ekitike levelled 20 minutes later. Bayer Leverkusen went into the break with the lead through Patrik Schick.

Exequiel Palacios, Jeremie Frimpong and Boniface sealed victory with strikes in the second half, as reported by the BBC.

Boniface named in Bundesliga TOTY

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Super Eagles forward, Boniface was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Year after inspiring Bayer Leverkusen to their first-ever league title.

The 23-year-old is joined by some of his teammates as well as players from Bayern Munich and Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy.

Xabi Alonso's side dominated the Team of the Season with six players, followed by Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart, who each had two players; Borussia Dortmund completed the squad with one player.

Boniface recounts painful career moment

Sports Brief also reported that Nigerian striker, Boniface, opened up about the painful experience of missing the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) due to injury.

The Bayer Leverkusen forward was initially named in the Super Eagles' final squad but was forced to withdraw after suffering a groin injury during a pre-tournament training camp.

The setback came at a time when he was enjoying a breakout season with Leverkusen, having registered an impressive 24 goal involvements (16 goals, eight assists) in 23 appearances across all competitions.
